The Board of Directors of the Internal Trade Development Authority (ITDA) held its first meeting chaired by Dr. Mohamed Awad Ibrahim, and attended by Vice Chairmen Mr. Karim El-Shafei and Brig. Gen. Ahmed Fathy. The meeting marked the start of a new institutional phase aimed at enhancing internal trade and supporting the investment environment in Egypt.

The session involved discussions on critical regulatory decisions aimed at raising performance efficiency and improving workflows. Dr. Mohamed Awad emphasized the importance of working with a "One Team" spirit and developing a clear vision for the coming period based on continuous modernization and the expansion of digital solutions.

Dr. Awad expressed his gratitude to Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, for forming a board that includes a selection of economic elites and leaders from industry and trade sectors. He also thanked the previous leadership for their efforts in supporting the Authority's progress.

A key highlight of the meeting was the review of developments in the Commercial Registry sector. In line with the state’s digital transformation goals, the board reviewed efforts to update databases and implement electronic linking with relevant authorities. This integration is designed to facilitate company incorporation, stimulate economic activity, and attract more local and foreign investment.

Future plans include expanding the establishment of "Premium" Commercial Registry offices and providing a comprehensive suite of digital services that meet global standards, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy.

Furthermore, the board reviewed ongoing projects and discussed plans to expand the land portfolio targeted for development. The expansion of partnerships with the private sector was identified as a primary axis for achieving desired growth and boosting ITDA's resources.

In conclusion, the board stressed the importance of periodic monitoring of approved projects and the use of clear performance indicators (KPIs) to measure results. Dr. Awad reaffirmed that the human element remains the cornerstone of the Authority's success in achieving sustainable development goals and driving the national economy forward.
