Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, held a meeting with a delegation from the "Decent Life" (Hayah Karima) Foundation, led by Dr. Bothaina Mostafa, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Trustees. The meeting aimed to explore ways to support joint cooperation and review several proposals of mutual interest to enhance social responsibility and turn initiatives into tangible results that serve the Egyptian citizen.
The meeting reviewed several key axes, including how to coordinate the Ministry's efforts with the "Decent Life" Foundation to develop community initiatives and improve the quality of services provided to citizens. Additionally, they discussed opportunities for cooperation in training and qualification, and organizing joint programs targeting the support of the most vulnerable families and communities to enhance the positive impact of development programs.
The discussions also covered cooperation mechanisms through the Food Industries Holding Company in preparing food parcels and cartons to meet the needs of priority families. This is in addition to the Ministry issuing purchase coupons for the "Decent Life" Foundation to study their distribution to eligible groups, ensuring the highest levels of targeting and governance in support delivery.
The proposed cooperation also included studying the supply of meat, poultry, and basic commodities to the Foundation's outlets at reasonable prices, as part of state efforts to ease the burden on citizens. Joint coordination in the field of "Adahi" (Sacrificial meat) vouchers was also addressed to maximize the utilization of available resources and expand the beneficiary base.
Both parties emphasized the importance of exchanging databases between the Ministry and the Foundation. This will contribute to the accurate targeting of the most needy groups, enhancing the efficiency of the support system and ensuring it reaches those who deserve it most.
The Minister affirmed the Ministry's commitment to strengthening partnerships with institutions and initiatives aimed at supporting society, utilizing available expertise and resources to achieve the greatest positive impact for citizens. He pointed out that cooperation with the "Decent Life" Foundation falls within the Ministry's vision to expand community participation and foster a culture of shared responsibility between the state and its citizens.
The meeting was attended on behalf of the Ministry by Dr. Mohamed Awad, Chairman of the Internal Trade Development Authority (ITDA), Mr. Ayman Ismail, Chairman of the Food Industries Holding Company, Dr. Alaa Nagi, CEO of the Food Industries Holding Company, Mr. Ahmed Kamal, Assistant Minister and Official Spokesperson, and Ms. Sara El-Azazy, Head of the Minister’s Office Administration. Representing the "Decent Life" Foundation were Dr. Marwa Fakhry, CEO, and Dr. Mahmoud Allam, Assistant Executive Director.
