Minister of Supply Meets ITDA Chairman to Follow Up on Strategic Files and Development Plans

Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, held a meeting today with Dr. Mohamed Awad, Chairman of the Internal Trade Development Authority (ITDA), at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Capital. The meeting was part of the periodic follow-up on the work of entities affiliated with the Ministry.

During the meeting, Dr. Sherif Farouk followed up on the status of key files within the Authority and reviewed the development proposals and plans currently being prepared by Dr. Mohamed Awad, approximately three weeks after he assumed his duties. They also reviewed the executive status of ITDA projects under construction, several of which are nearing completion in preparation for their upcoming inauguration and service entry to support the Ministry's strategy in enhancing the internal trade system.

The Minister of Supply emphasized the importance of accelerating the implementation of targeted programs related to developing the Authority's information infrastructure, improving services provided to investors, and supporting state plans to attract new investments in the internal trade sector. This aims to streamline procedures and enhance the overall efficiency of the trade system.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Awad presented several plans designed to strengthen the Authority's role. These include developing the Commercial Registry system, expanding partnerships with the private sector in logistics zones, modern markets, and strategic warehouse projects, as well as plans to accelerate digital transformation and improve electronic services.

The meeting was attended by Major General Walid Abu Al-Magd, Vice Minister of Supply, Mr. Ahmed Kamal, Assistant to the Minister and Official Spokesperson, and Ms. Sara El-Azazy, Head of the Central Administration for the Minister’s Office.

At the conclusion of the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Sherif Farouk stressed the continuation of close monitoring of the Authority's performance in the coming period to ensure the execution of assignments and support state efforts in developing, growing, and organizing internal trade.
